Great piece in New York Magazine on Conan O’Brien:  Conan O’Brien on the Couch – How the Embodiment of New York Comedy Won Over Middle America. I have to say that I’ve totally fallen off the late night tv wagon, but I used to absolutely love Conan, for many of the reasons that are abundantly clear in this article: he’s smart, thoughtful, off-the-wall and not afraid to alienate the "mass market". The real question is: will the typical late night audience be ready for him when he takes over The Tonight Show in 4 years? How much of an audience will be left by then??
